How did TriviaHub start?

TriviaHub grew from a pair of committed, ambitious entrepreneurs who saw a gap in the market that they could fill.

In the beginning, Ryan Kohlman and his colleague were holding down full-time jobs when they were hit with an idea. When they came into possession of a trivia database, they thought to build it into a trivia hosting software.

Once this project started, they spent most evenings and weekends building the software which would become the foundation of what TriviaHub would become.

The trivia software was a hit for small businesses invested in team building, and also for pubs needing an easier way to facilitate trivia games.

TriviaHub launched shortly before the coronavirus struck the globe. This initiated a pivot into a new age for TriviaHub.

With the dawn of COVID, businesses suddenly began either closing or transforming to continue operating during the mass quarantine. That’s when remote team building and employee engagement became a serious priority for TriviaHub’s most popular clients and prospects.

Businesses began inquiring as to whether TriviaHub offered to host services to accompany the use of their trivia hosting software.

Ryan reached out to his network for help. He discovered that his own cousin was actually a live pub-trivia host. TriviaHub capitalized on this opportunity and began hosting live virtual pub-style trivia. Businesses everywhere flocked to TriviaHub for trivia-themed events and team-building opportunities.

By filling this gap in the market, TriviaHub experienced unprecedented growth. This allowed TriviaHub to an expanded its team, add more service offerings, and host big events for companies like Amazon, Apple, Disney, and more.

Today, Triviahub continues to grow by expanding its value offering by building new games, hiring new entertainers, adding new game prizes, creating flexible pricing packages, and tailoring plans for specialized events.

Who do TriviaHub events work for?

TriviaHub has hosted stellar events for Fortune 500 companies like Amazon, Apple, Disney, Dell, and SalesForce among others.

Even still, it’s a great solution for small businesses and even individuals.

TriviaHub understands people’s need to connect spans across all companies, families, and groups of friends. That is why TriviaHub was built to accommodate groups as small as 5, or as large as 1,000.

Most businesses use TriviaHub for event hosting, team building, or both.

Businesses that use TriviaHub for events have enjoyed incorporating TriviaHub into conferences, fundraisers, company parties, and more.

Companies that use TriviaHub for team building have great success with TriviaHub’s teambuilding packages or subscription service. These allow clients to reserve multiple sessions at once for a discounted rate.

Whether you are a large corporation, a small business, or an individual looking to connect with loved ones online - TriviaHub has a plan made just for you.

What are the trivia questions like?

TriviaHub’s games are developed to accommodate all levels of trivia knowledge for games of pub-style trivia. Topics span everything from pop-culture, sports, music, history, and more! You can even personalize your trivia questions if you have a topic you would like to cover in your game!

TriviaHub’s games were built to replicate the flow and feeling of trivia games you’d play at the bar. Here’s how it goes:

Teams are divided at the beginning of the game. Once teams are made, the trivia questions are delivered by the host to the whole group one round at a time.

Once the questions are delivered, participants are sent to private Zoom breakout groups with their team to discuss their answers before submitting.

At the end of every round, the group is collected again to hear the answers to the questions together. Scores are tallied for each team, then the next round begins!  At the end of the game, winners are announced and prizes distributed for groups who elected to add a prize to their event.

Who are the TriviaHub Hosts?

People have said that TriviaHub’s hosts are the best part of any event. Our hosts are selected for their ability to bring energy and enthusiasm to events that are unmatched by any other event hosting service.

TriviaHub’s hosts come from all walks of life. Each one brings their unique talents and shining personalities to every TriviaHub event.

Our hosts consist of comedians, TV and radio personalities, magicians, mixologists, musicians, and more! Some of these talented individuals are even available for hire to bring their unique talents to perform during events.

People often ask “Can I choose my host?” The answer? Yes! But only by request.

Typically, when you book an event, your host is automatically chosen for you based on the time slot you select. If you’ve had an event and loved your last host, you are welcome to request them again. To put in a request for a host, you’ll only have to contact TriviaHub’s team

*Note on Choosing a Host: There is no guarantee that your selected host will be available for your chosen time slot, so you could change your event time and day to accommodate the host, or work with any of the other incredible hosts available. Hosts who also perform talents for events only do so for events where they are hired to do so, meaning selecting a host who is a comedian will not guarantee a comedy show at your event unless they are hired to do so.

What is pricing like for TriviaHub events?

Unlike some of TriviaHub’s competitors, all of TriviaHub’s prices are public, meaning you can see how much you pay and exactly what you’ll get before booking.

TriviaHub has prioritized making affordable packages for small teams and individuals, starting at $99 for Friends and Family Events or $250 for a small business event. TriviaHub also has large packages that can accommodate massive groups for elaborate events.

Events are entirely customizable, and the most common add-ons are transparently priced and visible while booking. If you are interested in customizing your event with an add-on that isn’t listed, inquire with TriviaHub’s team about logistics and pricing for your customization.

For a full list of packages, prices, and add ons, look at our standard Event Plans.

What will TriviaHub do after COVID passes?

In the words of Ryan Kohlman himself, “The remote work revolution is here to stay.”

People believe that once COVID ends everything will go back to “normal.” Considering the immense digital transformation of businesses across the world, there is already a new normal.

The remote work revolution began well before the coronavirus emerged, but it undoubtedly had a massive influence on the speed at which the remote workforce expanded.

At the beginning of the pandemic, companies everywhere sent employees home and permanently closed their offices. Most businesses built a completely remote or hybrid work solution for accomplishing their daily tasks.

Now that remote solutions have been implemented, the businesses that transformed because of COVID cannot and will not go back to how things were before.

Remote teams will always need to engage with one another, just like any in-person team does. Remote businesses still need to host events on both large and small scales. These needs will not change after COVID passes.

In short, TriviaHub is committed to meeting these needs for businesses indefinitely, even after the pandemic is behind us.
